Fuller, wool weaver. Wife Elizabeth wool weaver, her father Edward, husbandman. John does not appear on Wellington censuses 1851/71/81, Elizabeth lodging at Blackmore's Place 1871, and living with her mother and son Charles at Mount Terrace 1881. A John, 41, unmarried Army pensioner born Wellington was a patient in Taunton & Somerset Hospital, East Reach, Taunton, at 1881 census, and but for marital status appears identical (there is no other candidate) - Army service would account for his absence from Wellington censuses. Divorce seems unlikely, and Elisabeth is shown in the same census as married, separation or census recording error may be the answer. Died at Wellington Workhouse.
