Agricultural labourer, wife Mary's father Robert, labourer. Mary and sons Robert (11) and John (9) shown as agricultural labourers 1861. Family homes Langford Budville 1851, Hillcommon (Hillfarrance) 1861/81. James buried from Wellington Workhouse.

John (c 25.2.1827).

Servant at Lower Chipley 1841, agricultural labourer thereafter. See note re wife Hannah/Ann b 1828, Section 2, who also married his brother Edward. Family homes Langford Budville and Rockwell Green.  A Sarah I. (or J.), 20 years, wool sorter, born Langford Budville, was living with son Edward and wife, 1881, and shown as Edward's sister - no other trace found.

Agricultural labourer, married widow of his brother John. Living at Langford Budville 1871/81.

Robert (b 1849(4))

Agricultural labourer at 11, general labourer later. In 1871 in 1odgings at 80, St. John Street, Bridgwater, in 1881 with first wife Sarah (then 46) at 6, 'Jubilee Court, Wilder Street, St. Pauls, Bristol.  No children identified, but Sarah could have been the mother of Sarah Ann S. (34, Appendix A), who is probably identical with Annie, item 124, but see John, b 1847(7), Section 13, whose wife Sarah is another possible candidate.  Second wife, Hannah, packer at marriage, her father, John, hairdresser. Other Bristol homes at Lower Easton, Barton Hill, Totterdown, and (1916/21) 6, Fairlawn Avenue, Filton.

John (b 1852(1)) .

As farmer to 1919.   Family home at Kingston Seymour, which was in Bedminster RD.

Maria (b 1855).

Farm servant for Edward Bond, landowner, of Risdons, Bradford-on-Tone, 1871.  Mother of illegitimate son William James, b 1872(1), c 6.7.1873 Hillfarrance. Maria’s birth not registered.

Harriet (b 1862(1)).

Dairymaid for John G. Davis, Blagroves, Milverton, 1881.  Husband railway servant, his father, James, labourer. Her address at marriage 190, Newport Road, Cardiff.

James Robert (b 1849(1)).

Woollen factory worker 1861, labourer, wife Mary Hannah's father Robert, labourer. Family homes at Rockwell Green, Ridge House, Thorne St. Margaret and Langford Budville. Mary Hannah died at 100, Fishponds Road, Bristol. James Robert's birth and baptism in those names, shown as Robert at marriage, baptisms of sons Henry and Frank and marriages of all three sons, buried and death registered as Robert James.

Wool spinner, labourer. Wife Mary Ann's father Joseph, shoemaker. At Springfields, Wellington, 1881.

Rosa (b 1854(1)).

Weaver 1871, lodging at Rockwell Green. Mother of illegitimate daughter Louisa b 1874(1), c 8.9.188o Langford Budville, who married 29.8.1891 at Wellington St. John, James Rowland, 20, factory hand, son of Obediah, engine driver.  Rosa's husband and his father Alfred labourers.

Emily (b 1872(4)).

Husband and his father William labourers. Lived at 5, Burgage, Wellington.
